WHY IS SECOND BAPTIST OPENING A PRESCHOOL?
Beginning in 2018, our church began to pray and discuss what we could do to better serve our community. Numerous ideas were implemented that are still active today. The most significant idea we discussed was the need for Christ centered childcare. After 5 years of prayerful research and discussion, it became evident that the need was there and that the Lord was calling us to this important work.
It is our vision to make an eternal impact on you, your child, our community, and the world.
WHEN WILL THE PRESCHOOL OPEN?
The SBC Preschool is scheduled to open on Monday, September 8, 2025.
WHERE WILL THE PRESCHOOL BE LOCATED?
As a ministry of Second Baptist Church, SBC Preschool will operate within the church’s facilities, utilizing the new Joy Wing. The church made the decision to build a completely new facility for the purpose of the preschool. The 15,500 square ft. building has been developed to meet the highest standards for childcare in state.
HOW MANY CHILDREN WILL THE PRESCHOOL SERVE?
We will be licensed to serve up to 99 children, ages 6 weeks to 5 years.
WHAT WILL BE THE HOURS OF OPERATION?
The program will run year-round, Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.
WHAT POSITIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR EMPLOYMENT IN THE PRESCHOOL AND HOW DO I APPLY?
We are currently in the process of accepting applications for: teachers, cook or custodian. If you would like to apply: please see job descriptions below and then click on application link to print. This can be filled out and emailed to preschool@secondbaptistuc.com or you may drop it by the church office at your convenience.
HOW CAN I ENROLL MY CHILD FOR THE FALL?
At this time, we are placing children on a waitlist for enrollment. If you would like to add your child/children to the list for consideration, please click on the WAITLIST REGISTRATION BUTTON below and complete a registration form for each child you wish to add to the waitlist. Completion of the form is not a guarantee for admission. Applications will be processed by date received and priority.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
Final cost will be published closer to opening, but are aiming to be comparable to other local high-quality preschools in the area. This is a non-profit ministry and is not designed as an income stream for the church. All income will be utilized to provide quality teachers, facilities and programming for your child and family.
WHAT SERVICES DO WE OFFER?
Our program will carefully consider each child’s individual developmental needs and incorporate these levels into group activities personalized to their abilities. Our children will be engaged in educational age-appropriate hands-on activities, with Biblical principles and early learning standards as our guides, socialization opportunities, outdoor activities, scheduled rest time, and a nutritious meal service (breakfast, morning snack, and lunch) per CACFP requirements. We will offer both full-time and part-time enrollment options when the need is balanced.
